Vanilla. I recognize the strong scented object as soon as it moves under my nose. Immediately the sweet memories begin flooding my head. All I can do is smile as I replay the memories over and over again. As I recall these past moments, I find it funny that one smell, one object can mean so much to a person. For me, vanilla represents time spent with my little sister, quality time with my family, and funny mistakes. My little sister Lindsay and I are very close, so we usually enjoy all the time we spend together. My sister and I both love the smell of vanilla and the taste of vanilla frosting. Although Lindsay does not share my love for baking, she often helps me just so she can smell the vanilla. Just so we can enjoy the smell, we both†¦show more content†¦I always wondered why, I mean if it smelled good it had to taste good, and didn’t she want the goodies to taste good? After some time I got a taste of the vanilla and realized why we couldn’t add more. It tasted terrible! Although I was disappointed that the vanilla didn’t taste as good it smelled, I still enjoyed the mixing and the decorating of the sweet treats. With the christmas cookies there using cookie cutters and decorating the cookies with red hots and red and green sprinkles. With the Easter bunny cake there was watching Nana cover the cake with white frosting, using licorice to make the whiskers, jelly beans for the eyes, nose, and mouth, and colored sprinkles for the bow tie and ears. I loved the holidays as the creation of these sweet treats helped bring my whole family together through the baking, decorating, and the eating. Although vanilla provokes memories of special times with others, it also elicits funny mistakes that I have made while baking. Baking and swimming at the pool are two of my favorite summer activities and a perfect day includes both of these activities. As the beginning of school began to creep up on my this past summer I attempted to have one of these perfect days.
